my thoughts of this image is where are these girls childrens children today, to see how early education for these young maori girls has influenced and enriched there lives they obviously came from comfortable backgrounds of mana, or strongly conformed to christianity. the wearing of the tartan is a signature to come in modern new zealand today and still widely used in this Island Aotearoa,,
